Pink 'Ikattha' block printed fabric gathered lampshade
Pink 'Ikattha' block printed fabric gathered lampshade
This is a lovely hand sewn lampshade using block printed fabric we commission from Jaipur (we call it ‘Ikattha’ meaning ‘gather’). The fabric has been pleated around the base ring, and then gathered around the top ring - the shade has then been completed with a bias trimming in the same fabric. There is a balloon lining in white good quality lycra, and the struts have been trimmed in ivory silk ribbon. This wonderful lampshade is so pretty, and its curved block print patterns work beautifully with the straight sided frame and pleated fabric. Please note that because the fabric is block printed by hand, it may not be uniform in pattern and colour, plus there may be little dark random marks from the blocks, however this just adds to its authenticity and originality. Please ask for a free swatch of this fabric if you would like to see it in advance of ordering.
Frame type - French drum (please see drop down menu below for exact sizing). The petite and small sizes have a EU/UK fitting in the base ring - it is suitable for a desk or table lamps only, the larger sizes have a duplex fitting meaning it can be used as both a table/desk lampshade, or as a ceiling/pendant lampshade by using a spider fitting (both available freely from lighting shops or John Lewis etc).
This lampshade will be hand made for you so please allow three- four weeks for delivery. The shade has been treated with a water-based flame-retardant however we always recommend low wattage or LED bulbs.
