I run workshops teaching you how to make contemporary drums or traditional hand sewn lampshades – for yourself, for fun or if you are thinking of starting a new business – either way, you will be taught to a high professional standard. Traditional lampshades
Traditional lampshades never go out of style, and you will be taught how to make them using traditional methods - binding the frame, tailoring your fabric to fit, hand sewing this into place and trimming it for a wonderful classic finish. You can choose from a 1-day or 2-day class:
Contemporary drum shades
In this 3-hour class you will learn how to make modern drum lampshades in the size of your choice, using your own fabric. You will also be taught how to create double-sided shades, re-make shades, how to add trims and how to use other materials such as paper:
Gathered lampshades
Currently very popular the gathered shade is enjoying being in the limelight. In this two-day workshop you will learn how to gather your fabric, hand sew it in place onto your frame, along with a lovely lining and a matching or coloured binding for a great finish:
Little Liberty lampshade garland
Come and learn how to make a little light garland - using beautiful Liberty fabric, you will: cut the fabric to fit the paper mini shades, attach lovely trims and ribbons, and then light up with a string of 10 LED lights - everyone will want a set!
