Making a traditional style lampshade

By Jane Warren, Apr 13 2015 10:04AM

Many people are now getting in touch and asking to be taught how to make a traditional style lampshade - with the increasing popularity of vintage fabrics, making a lampshade is a wonderful way of displaying them in the home where they are literally lit up! You can also buy the traditional shaped frame from the leading lampshade frame supplier (www.needcraft.co.uk) now either with a round base or the wonderful scalloped edge base.

So why not give it a go? you can choose to have your lampshade lined or unlined, and you can add all kinds of trims and embellishments. Contact me if you would like to come and learn how to make one! they are great fun to make and you will learn a traditiional skill that has stood the test of time.
